OK, so this wasn’t the most intelligent quiz, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Kerri-Kerri and I were acquaintances from 4th-9th grade. We became friends in 9th and then best friends in 10th. She is still my best friend to this day and I literally do not know where I would be without her. We grew through our teenage years together and remained best friends. That doesn’t sound like much, but there are so many people who barely talk to their high school friends and I have lived with mine for the past 3 years. She makes me want to be a better person (that sounds awfully couple-y doesn’t it?) But, she really does. She is an incredibly compassionate person. When I am bitching about someone and going off on them, she pulls me back and makes me think about the situation from all sides. I can be a pretty irrational and careless person and she helps me stay a little more grounded. We have this thing where we have really great conversations when we’re driving. They are best when I am driving and we have recently gotten starbucks or tcby. We can talk for hours and stop twice for gas but we never run out of things to say. We run errands together. She had to stay at school this past month and I have been very lonely. I have no one to go to CVS with. The other day I took my dog and I talked to her while I walked through the aisles.
Kerri is going to France and Greece for 2 months in a week and while I am so excited for her, I’m really going to miss having an errand buddy. I work for her dad at his company, so I’m thinking I’ll just take him on my errands with me. It’s the same thing, right?
Shannon- Shannon and I became close junior year when a boy I knew really liked her. I approached her at a party and asked her if she liked him. She said no. Bonding ensued. We went to Italy together that year for a class trip (Kerri was also on it) and we became very close in a very short amount of time. Shannon is…hilarious. I can’t even think of words to describe how funny she is and I am an English major for all the out loud cryingings. We make each other laugh to the point where one of us usually ends up yelling “I’m gonna pee my pants! I’m gonna pee my pants!” (Spoiler alert: I’m usually the one yelling this). And as funny as Shannon is, she is even more genuine. When you’re her friend, you can just tell that she legitimately loves and cares about you. I went through some shit with this kid up at school during our last week and when I went to go yell at him, Shannon came with me and all I can say is that if it came to blows, she would have totes had my back. She is one of the coolest people I have ever gotten the chance to know. The amount that I admire her is unparalleled by any other. Except, Tina Fey. Sorry, Shantheon.
Kelly and Nick- If feel that it is completely appropriate for me to put Kelly and Nick together. I met both Kelly and Nick my freshman year of college when they were friends with my roommate, Jennie, at the time. I did not know them very well. However, Kelly was the one who told me that Heath Ledger died. A significant part of our friendship. I became much closer with Nick my sophomore year of college when we did the musical “Hair” together. It was an amazing experience and I am so grateful that it was the vehicle that brought Nick and I closer together. You will never find a better person than Nick. He is sweet and caring and hilarious and heartwarming and any other words you would use to describe a Hugh Grant movie. Kelly and I became much closer during our junior year of college. She was off campus in New York and we texted each other more than is probably healthy for normal human beings. Kelly is the Yin to my Yang. Except we would probably both be the Yang because we are essentially the same person. We have this idea for a comedy show called “Two Broads in a Basement”. This may sound cocky, but Kelly and I are a riot. Seriously. We’re brilliant. She is someone who I could talk to about anything because we usually end up having the same opinions about things. We also both like when people agree with us, so…it tends to work out.
People have told me that they were intimidated to talk to Nick, Kelly, and I because we were all such close friends. And while I don’t want anyone to think that they can’t talk to me…I thought that was a pretty cool statement about the 3 of us.
There are so many more amazing people I could write about. I have been truly blessed to have been given the chance to get to know people who are so much cooler than I.
